GRONINGEN HOOGKERK BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

October 2024 - Van der Valk Groningen-Hoogkerk proudly announces the start of an impressive new construction phase, allowing the hotel to offer its guests even more luxury and comfort. This expansion will provide an even wider range of facilities and services, in line with the quality for which Van der Valk is known.

A STEP ASIDE TO EVEN MORE LUXURY

With the addition of new hotel rooms, (themed) suites, and 8 multifunctional rooms that can be combined into one large space with a capacity of 450 people, Van der Valk Groningen-Hoogkerk is taking a big step in expanding its offerings. In addition, the Brasserie will be expanded with a new hotel bar, where visitors can enjoy a snack and a drink in a cozy setting. The terrace will also be renovated.

In addition, there is a luxurious Spa & Wellness area with facilities such as a swimming pool, sauna, and Turkish steam bath, where guests can enjoy ultimate relaxation and well-being. In collaboration with the beauty and wellness company LOFF, the offering is further expanded to include massages, facial treatments, and a head spa at Van der Valk Groningen-Hoogkerk. This allows guests to expect a complete pampering experience.

In anticipation of the new construction, the hotel has already made some adjustments. For example, the buffet has recently been renovated, allowing guests to enjoy an even more varied selection in a more spacious and relaxed atmosphere.

LOGICAL STEP

The expansion plans for the hotel were already in place, but they had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Stijn Langebeek (4th generation of Van der Valk), who has been at the helm of Van der Valk Groningen-Hoogkerk since its opening in 2017, explains that the hotel plays an important role in the hospitality of the region. "The hotel, strategically located on the outskirts of Groningen, quickly became a popular choice for both business travelers and tourists. This latest expansion is a logical step in the hotel's ongoing ambition to offer our guests more and more."

Although the construction poses a temporary challenge, Langebeek remains optimistic: "Even though I personally don't find it exciting, I am looking forward to the completion of the project. We are doing everything we can to ensure that guests experience as little inconvenience as possible from the new construction, so that they can enjoy their stay undisturbed."

FUTURE

The construction is currently in full swing and the opening of the new facilities is expected on September 1, 2025. With this expansion, Van der Valk Groningen-Hoogkerk continues to contribute to an unforgettable stay for both business and leisure guests, with a focus on comfort, service, and quality.
