Hotel Nijmegen-Lent celebrates 10th anniversary

Marije van der Valk and Thijs Boomkens look back on a hectic but unforgettable opening period. “In 2016, the 100th edition of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches took place, and we absolutely wanted to be open to pamper the walkers. It became a race against the clock, but we made it! We still fondly remember the weekends when we enlisted our group of friends to carry mattresses, unpack chairs, and hang curtains,” laughs Marije.

The hotel is now an integral part of the skyline of Nijmegen-North. Hospitality is their top priority, which is reflected in the guest satisfaction score: guests love coming back for the warm welcome and the 'home away from home feeling'. Marije: “There is one guest who stays with us every Monday, for 10 years now. Every week we ask if everything is still to his liking, and time and again it turns out that it is. That's what we do it for, that's the appreciation for our team!”.

The 10th anniversary is a great moment to look back, but especially to look forward. In the coming years, Thijs and Marije aim further at sustainability, innovation, and even better catering to what guests and employees find important: experience. “What remains, is hospitality. Because that is our reason for existence,” says Thijs in conclusion.
