"The finishing phase has officially started," says Seppe de Rooij. "That means everything is coming together now." An important moment follows in mid-March when the new kitchen will be installed. "That is crucial because once it is in place, we can deliver our brand new banquet hall at the beginning of May." May will therefore be a key month for the hotel.
After the opening of the banquet hall, the pace continues unabated. In June, the renovated restaurant and the first new rooms will be completed, bringing guests another step closer to the fully renovated hotel. Later in the year, towards autumn, the focus shifts to the wellness and fitness facilities. This completes the overall picture and allows Dennenhof to gradually evolve into a contemporary hotel with extra comfort, without losing its familiar character.
Notably, despite the construction, the restaurant remains well-attended. "Our regular guests continue to come, and we appreciate that immensely," says Seppe. "That support gives energy." The goodwill factor in Brasschaat and the surrounding area appears to be significant, even while the hotel is in the midst of renovations.
For the team, it is not an easy period. Working on a 'site' requires flexibility and perseverance. "It's sometimes tough," Seppe admits. "But everyone keeps putting in the effort to provide our guests with the service they are used to from us. I'm extremely proud of that."
With the kitchen installation in March and the opening of the banquet hall in May, the finish line is getting closer. Van der Valk Hotel Dennenhof is preparing for a summer in which the renovated hotel can shine in full: more modern than ever, but still firmly anchored in the region.
